The Chalet

Welcome to Chalet Aemmer, a beautifully designed Swiss chalet surrounded by forest, mountain views, and the quiet atmosphere of Edelweiss Village.

Originally built between 1910 and 1912, the chalet carries the architectural charm of the early Swiss mountain guide community while offering a spacious and elevated stay experience designed for modern guests. Historic details remain throughout the home, balanced by carefully updated interiors that feel warm, relaxed, and intentionally understated.

With multiple levels, generous living spaces, outdoor decks, and room for families or groups to gather comfortably, Chalet Aemmer feels especially well suited for longer stays, mountain weekends, and shared experiences in the Rockies.

It's a place designed equally for adventure and returning from it well.

A Piece of Rockies History

Chalet Aemmer is named after Rudolph Aemmer, one of the pioneering Swiss mountain guides who helped establish mountaineering and adventure tourism throughout the Canadian Rockies.

Originally from Grindelwald, Switzerland, Aemmer was recruited by the Canadian Pacific Railway for his remarkable alpine expertise and leadership in the mountains. He became known for leading early climbing expeditions, completing significant first ascents, and helping map some of the Rockies' most challenging terrain.

Today, his former chalet continues that legacy by offering guests an authentic connection to the mountain culture and history that shaped this region.
