Finding Your Chalet
Every chalet at Edelweiss Village has its own personality.
Each home features its own distinctive architecture, colours, and historic character, making them easy to identify once you arrive. Your welcome package includes a village map showing the location of your specific chalet, but you'll quickly find that each home stands out on its own. A village map is also available throughout the property.
If you've booked multiple chalets for a family gathering, wedding, or group retreat, we recommend reviewing the village map before booking. If you'd like neighbouring chalets or need help finding the best combination for your group, simply get in touch, and we'll happily help.

Getting HereYour Chalet
While every chalet has its own unique layout and history, they’re all thoughtfully equipped with everything you need to feel at home.
Every chalet includes:
- ✦Comfortable beds with quality linens
- ✦One or more full bathrooms with showers
- ✦Towels and bathroom essentials
- ✦Fully equipped kitchen
- ✦Refrigerator, stovetop, microwave, dishwasher, toaster and coffee maker
- ✦Coffee, tea and basic kitchen essentials
- ✦Cookware, dishes, glassware and cutlery
- ✦Tumblers and drinkware for enjoying your coffee on the deck or a glass of wine around the fire
- ✦Smart heating and cooling that you can adjust to your preferred temperature
- ✦High-speed Wi-Fi
- ✦Private deck or balcony with beautiful mountain views
- ✦BBQ
- ✦Wood-burning fireplace
- ✦Firewood, kindling, fire starters and lighter

Please note that while our kitchens are fully equipped, the chalets do not have ovens. We recommend planning meals for the stovetop or BBQ, or taking advantage of the excellent restaurants just minutes away in Golden.
Coffee and tea are provided, but you'll want to bring any groceries, snacks, beverages, or specialty ingredients you'd like during your stay.
Our water is clean, fresh, and safe to drink, so there's no need to purchase bottled water unless you prefer to.
Historic Homes with Modern Comforts
These chalets have been welcoming visitors since 1912.
While they've been beautifully restored with modern kitchens, bathrooms, heating, and contemporary finishes, we've worked hard to preserve their original character and charm.
As with any historic home, you'll notice little reminders of their age from time to time. Floors may gently creak, walls aren't perfectly square, and on colder winter days, you may notice a little draft around some original windows and doors. That's all part of the experience of staying somewhere with more than a century of history.
The good news is that the fireplaces warm the homes quickly, and every chalet is stocked with plenty of firewood, kindling, fire starters, and lighters to help you settle in.
Shared Spaces
One of the things that makes Edelweiss Village special is the balance between privacy and community.
Community Fire Pit
Nestled among the trees is our shared fire pit, where guests often gather after a day of exploring. It’s a large fire pit with surrounding benches, so no need to pack chairs. Firewood and kindling are provided right next to the fire pit, so feel free to roast marshmallows, enjoy a drink, or simply relax beneath the stars.
Village Green
The large green space near the centre of the village is perfect for lawn games, picnics, reading, or simply enjoying the mountain views.
Traditional Wood-Burning Sauna
Just a short walk from every chalet is our authentic wood-burning sauna.
Starting the sauna is part of the experience. Plan on about 10 to 15 minutes to get the fire going, followed by roughly an hour for the sauna to fully heat.
Firewood, kindling, fire starters and a lighter are all provided. Once the sauna reaches the desired temperature, simply close the vents to retain the heat and enjoy.
Please remember that all metal surfaces become extremely hot. Use the provided fire poker whenever tending the fire and exercise caution while using the sauna.
Detailed operating instructions are included in your welcome package and inside the sauna.
Parking
Each chalet has dedicated parking directly outside or immediately beside the home, with space for at least two vehicles and often more.
Additional overflow parking is available throughout the village should your group require it.
Wildlife
One of the joys of staying at Edelweiss Village is being surrounded by nature.
During your visit, you may spot bald eagles soaring overhead, hawks riding the mountain thermals, deer wandering through the property, or hear the calls of countless songbirds throughout the forest.
Our village is also home to a remarkable colony of Great Blue Herons, who nest in the tall trees between several of the chalets and the community fire pit. During the warmer months, they're fascinating to watch and have become one of the property's most unique natural features.
Because we back directly onto a large forest, wildlife, including black bears, grizzly bears, elk, moose, coyotes, wolves and other native species also live in the surrounding area.
Please help us keep both wildlife and guests safe by:
- ✦Never leaving food or garbage outside
- ✦Respecting all wildlife from a distance
- ✦Carrying bear spray if you're heading onto local trails or event around the property, to be safe
- ✦Never feed or approach wild animals
Sharing the mountains responsibly helps preserve this incredible environment for everyone.
Our Team
While Edelweiss Village doesn't have a traditional front desk, our team is never far away.
Our housekeeping, maintenance, and guest services staff are often working throughout the property during the day, carefully maintaining the village and preparing chalets for arriving guests. We intentionally don't operate from a central office because we want the village to feel peaceful, residential, and tucked away rather than like a traditional hotel.
If you need anything during your stay, we're only a phone call, text message, or email away and will always do our best to help.
Looking Ahead
Edelweiss Village is a project many years in the making, and we're just getting started.
Over the past several years, we've carefully restored the historic chalets, improved the grounds, and created many of the shared spaces you'll enjoy during your stay. In the years ahead, we'll continue bringing new amenities and experiences to the village while honouring its remarkable history.
Occasionally, you may notice small construction projects taking place elsewhere on the property as we continue that vision. These projects rarely impact the guest experience, and whenever there is anything we think you should know before your arrival, we'll always communicate it well in advance.
We hope you'll enjoy watching Edelweiss Village continue to grow for many years to come.
