The Chalet

Welcome to Chalet Heimann, a charming Swiss-style retreat surrounded by forest, mountain air, and the peaceful atmosphere of Edelweiss Village.

Originally built in 1910, the chalet reflects the simple alpine architecture that defined the early Swiss guide community in Golden while incorporating carefully updated interiors that feel warm, comfortable, and elevated without losing their historic character.

The chalet offers a more intimate mountain stay experience, ideal for couples, solo travellers, or guests looking for a quiet place to settle into between days exploring the Rockies.

With mountain views, a private entrance, and easy access to both the village and surrounding region, Chalet Heimann feels connected to the landscape in every season.

A Piece of Rockies History

Chalet Heimann was once home to the Heimann sisters — Clara, Johanna, and Martha — who became an important part of the Swiss Guides community after arriving in Golden in 1912.

Known for their warmth and hospitality, the sisters played a meaningful role in the social and cultural fabric of the early mountain community. Clara Heimann later operated a local tea house popular among climbers and visitors exploring the region.

Today, the chalet stands as a continuation of that legacy, offering guests the opportunity to experience a quieter and more personal side of Rockies history.
