The Chalet

Welcome to Ernest Feuz, a thoughtfully designed Swiss chalet surrounded by forest, mountain views, and the quiet atmosphere of Edelweiss Village.

Originally built in 1910, the chalet balances authentic alpine architecture with carefully updated interiors that feel warm, modern, and intentionally designed. Historic details remain throughout the home, while boutique finishes and thoughtful touches create a more elevated mountain stay experience.

Although part of Edelweiss Village, the chalet itself is entirely private, giving guests their own entrance, dedicated outdoor space, and room to settle into the property at their own pace.

It's especially well suited for couples, small families, or friends looking for a mountain stay that feels personal, quiet, and connected to the surrounding landscape.

Edelweiss Village

The chalets are intentionally spread throughout the property, creating a quieter and more spacious experience than a traditional resort or hotel stay.

Guests can enjoy

  • Forest walking trails throughout the village
  • Shared firepit areas for evenings outdoors

  • Panoramic views overlooking the Columbia Valley

A Piece of Rockies History

The chalet is named after Ernest Feuz, one of the pioneering Swiss mountain guides who helped establish Golden as a world-class mountaineering destination in the early 1900s.

Brought to Canada by the Canadian Pacific Railway, Feuz helped guide early alpine expeditions throughout the Rockies while shaping the mountain culture that still defines the region today.

His former chalet has been carefully restored to give guests the opportunity to experience that history while enjoying a refined modern mountain stay.
